Our caregivers are thoroughly screened and examined during a multi-stage interview process. Potential care-givers are required to provide a current Criminal Record Check, Valid CPR Training Certificate, and proof of current immunization including Flu Shot to ensure our clients safety and well-being.

When selecting caregivers we only select the best and most experienced making sure that our care staff have strong people skills that will be conducive to improving our clients’ quality of life.

New caregivers are also trained & tested by management on policies and procedures in order to ensure that only the best and skilled caregivers are providing care for you or your loved one.

What safety measures do you have in the event of an accident?

Medway Healthcare is insured for your peace of mind with Medical Malpractice & General Liability Insurance, and employees are insured through WSIB. Our staff are trained to call 911 in the event of an emergency, and have CPR Training. Our caregivers will stay by your loved ones side until you arrive.

How do you communicate with family members?

We communicate with designated family members as needed and as requested. Our privacy policies and regulations regarding whom we share information with are very strict. It is, therefore, important to establish who should be contacted ahead of time, as well as what capacity to which information should be divulged. It is, however, our pleasure to notify family members of changes when they occur.

Does the same caregiver work each visit?

We make every effort to always send the same caregiver for each visit. If the service is over 4 days per week, then, we will generally assign an additional caregiver to provide relief for the primary attendant. We always have backup caregivers if a caregiver is sick or on vacation.

What do your people do in the event of an emergency?

We train our staff in emergency policies and procedures. In the event of an obvious emergency, our caregivers call 911, secure the environment to avoid further injury and then notify the office. Family members/emergency contacts are contacted immediately by the office.

Do I get to choose my caregiver?

We make every effort to accommodate and best suit the caregiver to the client, preferences like male or female care providers and language spoken are something we try to accommodate, these preferences can be communicated with your Care Coordinator who will create a custom care plan for you.
